Total has two major industrial sites in Belgium: Antwerp and Feluy. Located in the city’s port area, the Antwerp facility has 3 production sites, including the third largest refinery in Europe, that form an integrated refining and petrochemical platform, producing various petroleum products and base chemicals. In Feluy Total has two major sites: its largest polymer production plant in Europe and a Research & Technology center. Integrated into an international network, the research center specializes in fields of catalysis and technological and scientific innovation for petrochemicals, base chemicals and refining. Total has an extensive retail network of more than 500 service stations in Belgium and is a market leader in the country for a wide range of petroleum and specialty products. Since 2013, Total Gas & Power has been selling natural gas and electricity to business customers, companies and industrial sites in Belgium. In 2016, Total acquired the Belgian company Lampiris to provide the same offer to individuals. Lampiris is the third largest supplier of natural gas and renewable power to the Belgian residential sector and also supplies energy services such as insulation, furnace maintenance, wood and pellets for heating, and smart thermostats. Total is also dedicated to solar R&D within IMEC (Interuniversity MicroElectronics Center), an independent research institute based in Leuven, world renowned and specializing in nanoelectronics and nanotechnology.
